This powertrain, which comes with standard rear-wheel drive, offers optimal fuel economy with a combined estimated 28 MPG. Higher trim levels have access to a 3.0-liter EcoBoost® option that offers 365 horsepower. Meanwhile, the ST trim level adds Ford Performance engine tuning to the 3.0-liter model. This equates to 400 horsepower and 415 ft-lbs of torque, making it the strongest option available for the model. Plus, it provides the model-best 143 mph top speed.
The 2021 Ford Explorer Has a Hybrid Powertrain
