Hiking Trails near Orangeville, ON

Local Hiking Trails in the Orangeville area for Fresh Air

While some parks may not be open across Canada, Ontario properties are open to the public. Earlier this month, even more opened in the province, making a hiking excursion a viable option when properly social distancing. To help with your search of places to check out, Blackstock Ford Lincoln employees made a brief list of their favorite places to go for a hike near Orangeville. Check them out below!

Island Lake Conservation Area

Part of a much larger conservation space, the Island Lake Conservation area is the iconic hiking spot in Orangeville. Located in the city itself, many of its 20 kilometers of paths are paved with easy signage posted, making it a great spot for hikers of all ages. Though it’s sure to be a little busier, make sure to practice social distancing!

Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve

Found just 6 kilometers north of Orangeville, Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve is a quick, easy jaunt for those weekday getaways. Yet another reserve along the Bruce Trail, it offers up to a 13.3 kilometer loop for 4-6 hours of fun for more experienced hikers. However, there’s plenty of waterfront scenery and plant life for everyone to enjoy.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park

Located north of Orangeville, Mono Cliffs Provincial park offers beautiful vertical scenery. Part of the Niagara Escarpment, it offers a wide-range of natural views with small lakes and cliff edges. It’s a premier spot if you love the shades of green throughout a long hike or bicycle ride. Plus, you can walk through a canyon along the spillway trail!

Forks of the Credit

Located along the Bruce Trail near Alliston, the Forks of the Credit is a great spot for some hiking and fly fishing. The park is known for the Credit River and its waterfall feature. With an 11.1 kilometer-loop trail, some spots offer a moderately-challenging hike, but offer beautiful scenery in every season.
